Early years

Jazz was born on October 6, 2000 as Jared Jennings to her loving parents Greg and Jeanette who became her biggest support in the upcoming years.

Athough she was born in a Jewish family and everybody thought her parents will be against her decision, they showed tolerance and love to their child and they feel like it is what any parents should do.

She was born in the southern part of Florida in United States and she has spent her childhood in a very happy and peaceful surroundings with supportive parents and two elder brothers Griffin and Sanders. They are twin brothers.

In 2004 her family had serious issue to resolve after she was diagnosed with a gender disorder which made her feel feminine although she was really of male gender.

She was 6 years old and her parents realized how serious her life challenges will be since she will have to face the outside world which is not so tolerant to different people.

Her parents knew that she will suffer a lot of complications, especially in school, but they decided that they will prepare themselves and ensure a good life for their child they loved.

There weren’t a crisis when her parents didn’t stand by her side and give her any support you wanted.

Her very first appearance on TV was in an interview with Barbara Walters when she was just six years old.

By this time, she has realized that she could make the difference involving the transgender problems and she started spreading her influence regarding the topic.

So she decided to start some transgender activities which lead to reforming and cultivating people about transgender identity.

She began writing articles for “Transkids Purple Rainbow Foundation” which was focused on helping transgender kids in dealing with the rest of the world.

She made an appearance in the documentary film made by Oprah Winfrey Network which was titled “I am jazz, a family in transition”.

She was very creative and decided to establish her own organization which she named “The Purple Rainbow Tails”.

This was an organization which produced mermaid tails and the money she earned from there wasn’t spent but kept aside in order to help transgender kids with their youth.

Since she had those problems herself she knew how hard the identity crisis can be and she wanted to help other children whose parents weren’t so supportive and understandable like hers. As for the looks of it, just a few parents tried to help their kids in this process.
